GP and Nurse Clinics
The RFDS provides regular fly-in fly-out GP, Nursing and Allied Health Clinics to rural and remote communities.
The RFDS has serviced three generations in our immediate family! They are the life-line to specialised medical care and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
You guys are wonderful. We got to have a flight to Brisbane from Townsville with my 2 陆 year old son to receive surgery he needed to save his hand... The pilot and nurse on board made our trip as comfortable and stress free as possible... Thank you xx.
As a nurse in a rural area, I am always thankful for the staff amp; service they provide caring for our patients during transit to a regional hospital for ongoing care! The RFDS are the saviours of the air!
You are a vital service to our small community in the lower SE of SA. We hear the plane fly in and out way too often, but it is comforting to know that people are getting to the best possible care they need, while receiving the best care in the air. Thank you for a wonderful service!
My little 4 month old girl had the most amazing treatment on our very short flight. It was an amazing experience for myself, and one I won #39;t forget anytime soon. My family are forever grateful. xxx
The kindness and warmth RFDS Rockhampton showed us has made my partner鈥檚 devastating journey a little easier. Thank you from myself amp; Smiley.
Thank you to the RFDS for the wonderful treatment you gave my pregnant daughter. She was over the moon with the care you gave. And so much thanks to the lovely people that donate blankets, toys, etc. for the babies and children. The baby blanket that was given to my daughter meant so much. It was beautiful.
My husband and I worked at a remote aboriginal community in Northern Queensland, some years ago as Doctor and Nurse, helping run their hospital. We have both flown with the RFDS and have nothing but admiration for the pilots, support staff and the medical and nursing staff we have had contact with.
I was very fortunate in having Dr Jim Drum as my flying doctor, who diagnosed me with bowel cancer. After spending a month in the Wesley hospital in Brisbane, I was allowed home, and later on started my chemotherapy in Brisbane, which was not terribly suitable, living so far away. After contacting Dr Drum, he informed me he could administer the chemo every fortnight in Windorah, and alternate weeks I would drive the 700km round trip to Longreach. This allowed me to stay in my own home, for the 52 weeks I was receiving the chemo. I am forever grateful to the R.F.D.S.
