Wednesday Morning News

I know what you're thinking. You're probably asking yourself what kind of whiz-bang wizardry has Apple got in store for us this time with the next iPhone? Well, luckily for you The Verge is separating the wheat from the chaff, putting in the whole nine years, and piecing together the rumours about what will eventually become the next iPhone. Keep in mind that most of this is pure speculation at this point.

Further evidence has surfaced that supports the theory the next iPhone will feature a dual LED flash system, compared to the current single LED flash found in the iPhone 5. Photos show the slot in the rear upper housing with room for two LEDs, and if both LEDs are coloured differently, then it should mean more natural-looking indoor photos.
Meanwhile, another rumour has apparently confirmed the "iPhone

Storage Breakdown
Published on 12th August 2013
How much data are you storing? Do you really know? And how do you share that data? Is it backed up? When you start thinking about all the different information you store 聳 movies, documents, photos, email, financial records in accounting systems 聳 it becomes apparent that most of us are holding on to more information than we realise.
There is a range of storage products on the market for you to choose from, so how do you know what聮s right for you?
Here聮s a quick inventory from our own home. Our iTunes library is approaching 1TB of data 聳 most of that comes from TV shows and movies we聮ve purchased. Now that we聮re in the high definition era, a movie is often in excess of 4GB and a TV homework assignments, hundreds of images used in articles we聮ve written, about 300GB in the iPhoto library and many other bits and pieces.
All up, we聮re holding in excess of 5TB on various storage devices by the time you throw in applications and operating systems.
Coupled with the massive amount of data that聮s growing quickly, is the fragmentation of that data.
It聮s stored on hard drives built into our Macs, on the iPhones, iPads and iPods in the house and on a couple of NAS devices. And let聮s not start on the dozens of USB sticks we聮ve accumulated over the years. We聮re not even

Mark September 10th in your calendar, because that's the date AllThingsD has heard Apple will bring out the big guns and announce the next iPhone, cheaper iPhone, and if we're lucky, the next iPad and iPad mini. AllThingsD has a pretty good record of predicting the dates for these things, so there's a pretty good chance September 10 will be the date you've been waiting the better part of the year for.
Rumour has it

It's extremely unusual for anything to come out of Apple's board of directors, much less a report that expresses concern about Apple's speed of innovation. As you probably know, Apple hasn't released any new products besides the usual refreshes for a long time now, and people are seemingly getting antsy for Tim Cook to put out the next big thing 聴 after all, his two-year anniversary of being in the CEO

Group review: Noise-cancelling headphones
Published on 8th August 2013
There used to be just a couple of players in the noise-cancelling-headphone market, but there聮s now a plethora of choice 聳 some good, some bad. Here, we check out four of the best.
Logic3 Ferrari Cavallino T350
PROS Excellent sound; comfortable
CONS Heavy
Who hasn聮t dreamed of owning a Ferrari? It turns out that if you can聮t afford to put your butt into the driver聮s seat that you can wrap a Ferrari around your head.
The Ferrari Cavallino T350 active noise-cancelling headphones come replete with the famous prancing horse and soft, tan leather trim that makes you feel like you own a piece of the Italian motoring legend.
They require two AAA batteries. There are also three audio cables 聳 a straight 3.5mm cable, another with a Play/Pause button and a third with volume. Airline and 7.5mm adapters are included, and all can be

The first high-resolution photos of the cheaper iPhone's back have emerged, and you know what? It doesn't look half bad. The curved design takes its cues from the shape of the iPhone 5 whilst also subtly nodding at previous iPhones with curved backs, such as the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It's speculated pricing for the cheaper iPhone will be on par with the price of the iPhone when purchased outright and off-contract.

Apple has seeded the fifth beta of iOS 7 to developers overnight, just a week after the previous beta release. The update has tweaked a few icons within apps here and there, and 9to5Mac has a few screenshots of the more visual changes. I've heard you need the iTunes 11.1 beta 1 to install it from your Mac, but otherwise you can grab the update OTA just like normal.

Analytics from IDC have revealed Apple's share of the tablet market have fallen to under a third, accounting for 32.4% in the second quarter of this year. They cite a lack of product launches in the first half of the year as one possible reason why Apple's numbers aren't as high as they could be 聴 and other companies aren't exactly sluggards when it comes to releasing new tablets, either.

BenQ VW2430H VA-LED monitor
Published on 5th August 2013
BenQ VW2430H VA-LED monitor
PROS: Inexpensive; DVI and HDMI inputs
CONS: No DisplayPort, mediocre brightness
RATING: 3.5 / 5
BenQ聮s VW2430H VA-LED monitor will boost your screen real estate without breaking the budget, but it might not impress those with an eye for picture quality.
One of the VW2430H聮s claims to fame is its 聭eco-friendly聮 design, with a white casing free from coatings and dyes. Unfortunately,
