Shared Web Hosting, Dedicated Servers and Virtual Private Servers January 31, 2014
Many times those that are relatively new to web hosting terminology stumble into some confusion in their quest for a good web hosting plan. One of the major sources of this confusion may simply come down to what is what where web hosting plans are concerned.
In this article I will talk about three different types of web hosting and their differences. These types are shared web hosting, dedicated server hosting and virtual private server. They mostly vary wildly in price and altogether fill different needs as far as hosting plans are concerned.
Shared web hosting is a term used to refer to when a hosting company puts websites from many different users on one server. Every user is usually given some limit to the amount of resources their site is able to consume. When several sites on the same server get busy or a script on one site consumes extra resources the server can bog down, slowing your site.
Most shared hosting plans are very cost effective and if you get a good hosting company you may be able to avoid having your site bogged down by having too many users on one server. Many shared plans can be had for under $10 a month and come packed with features and possibly even free domain registrations.
Dedicated server hosting is reseller hosting the most expensive web hosting of the three. Instead of sharing a server with other users you are in effect renting an entire server for yourself. Usually, all of the resources of the server are at your disposal. Many times hosting companies give you several options for the type of server you can rent and the operating system it runs.
Dedicated servers are for either bigger sites or for the webmaster who has 200 web sites and is tired of paying for 200 shared hosting accounts. Shared or virtual private server hosting accounts usually can handle personal or small business sites.
A virtual private server in essence is a hybrid of a shared web hosting account and a dedicated server. Software on the server is able to break it down into multiple #8220;virtual #8221; servers. The effect is basically like having several servers on the same machine. You would be paying for one of these virtual servers.
Virtual dedicated servers allow you the flexibility of customizing your server settings as if you were renting a dedicated server but since you are actually sharing a server with other users you pay much less. Virtual private server plans are usually priced just click HERE
a bit higher than shared web hosting.
When you search for hosting do whatever research you need to do to pick the plan that #8217;s right for you. There are thousands of sites offering quality information about web hosting that will help you to fill in any gaps in your knowledge and enable you to make the best possible decision.
Many hosting plans seem to offer the world on a string for a quarter. That #8217;s fine and all but what happens when they cram several hundred busy accounts on one server and your site loads 30kb of HTML in 10 minutes on a DSL connection?
There may actually be many different hosts that can be right for you. Whichever you pick will come down to your requirements for resources like bandwidth and storage space, your requirements for features like PHP and/or ASP, and your requirements for price and level of support. Have fun.

How Going Paperless Helped One Law Firm January 31, 2014
This is a real story about our law firm that now saves hours of time each week by changing all our records from physical paper copies to digital copies. Our senior attorneys fought the idea of switching over our records with the excuse of #8220;it works #8221; and #8220;we never had problems, why change it? #8221; This is how it was for several years. Eventually some of the younger partners were able to convince the more senior partners to buy in.
We paid to have all our client documentation scanned and turned into digital copies. This was no small task as we have had over 20 years of cases previously sitting in our office. Think about it, boxes and boxes of client related information locked away #8220;safe and sound #8221;. This was just the very first step, below are a couple more issues that occurred that we never thought of when committing to this adventure.
We had organization issues such as misplacing files or having old files getting mixed with current clients.
We had to make sure all our existing computers and tablets were up to date and supported the software.
We had extra bodies in our office to help complete the transition process. This made it a little bit louder and distractions occurred during the work day.
The transition was not tested and we did everything at once. It was a pain but we ended up not having too many issues fortunately.
As you can imagine the senior partners weren #8217;t pleased at this point. HOWEVER, once everything was set up and ready to go the training process occurred. We were all shown how to access files, make edits, and even how to get access to this information from our smart phones and tablets. Once the training was completed we outlined some of the benefits we had received by completing this conversion.
Online documentation is now available on computers, smart phones and even I pads.
Some attorneys have even retired their brief cases now that they have everything available virtually.
No sudden last minute #8220;I forgot X #8221; or having an associate meet up with an attorney to deliver documentation.
No more storage! We no longer have to be paranoid about securely storing paper files for previous clients. This was a concern even the senior partners had with the old system.
Changing our paper process to digital wasn #8217;t exactly an easy process but it was well worth it. Not many people want to change something that isn #8217;t broken but they have yet to realize the extra benefits associated with this conversion. If I had to guess I believe this conversion saves our attorneys several hours a week just in staying organized. This alone is definitely worth the cost!

Managed Hosting Vs Dedicated Servers January 31, 2014
It can be a daunting task for a small business to increase its control over its web server functions. Shared hosting can be a great deal; it #8217;s relatively cheap and provides hosting benefits that are otherwise unaffordable to a small business. When it comes to flexibility in making decisions regarding the server, however, there is no greater flexibility drupal web hosting than with the use of dedicated web hosting.
When considering hosting your website on a dedicated server, you #8217;re faced with two questions. Should you lease a dedicated server through a dedicated hosting plan? Or, alternatively, should you hire additional management of the server through a managed hosting option? Managed and unmanaged dedicated server hosting come at different prices and different levels of required server management. A unmanaged dedicated web hosting plan can be upgraded to a managed one, and many web hosting companies offer the latter.
Dedicated Server Hosting
With the most basic dedicated web hosting, a business website owner gets full use and access to a single web server. Leasing the right dedicated web hosting server can be cost effective and bring a higher return on investment. The website owner gets a choice of resources, such as the amount of disk space and the processor speed and type. Need a faster server to answer website requests? A dual quad-core processor may be suitable for you. Do you have many videos and high-volume data files? A larger disk space may be required.
You also get to choose which operating system and the control panel software the server will use.
Dedicated servers have an H.V.A.C. (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) climate controlled, redundant power facility that keeps the server operating efficiently.
But beware that an unmanaged dedicated server hosting plan requires you to do all of the above, and also maintain the server, perform data backup and recovery, and remotely fix the server if it crashes.
Managed Dedicated Server
With a managed hosting plan, not only do you receive the full benefits of a dedicated server, the use of a professional high-tech data center, but you also receive the benefit of having the hosting company provide technicians and administrators to help operate your web server.
Other benefits include:
1) Software updates #8211; A managed web hosting plan can get newly released software updates.
2) Monitoring #8211; Administrators work all day to ensure that all servers are running correctly, and are quick to react to a server crash.
3) Database Administration #8211; Professional administrators can assist with creating and maintaining your data lists.
4) Backups/Disaster Recovery #8211; A managed web hosting plan will help with regularly scheduled data backup, and restoration of data in case of loss.
If you do not have the human resource available to help maintain your dedicated server, managed hosting may be the most suitable avenue for you to take.

Criteria For Choosing Dedicated Server Hosting January 30, 2014
If you own a business, then you understand how important it is to develop a viable online presence. With all the different options for hosting agreements out there, how do you know which one is the best suited for your business, especially when you have little to no technology know how? The first step in determining the appropriate hosting provider is to determine whether or not you need shared, VPS, or dedicated hosting. If you have a very small operation, then shared may be your best bet. But if growth is part of your five year plan, then you might consider bumping it up to a virtual private server. But if you are on the fast track to company growth, then the time has come for you to make the leap to a dedicated servers company. But how can you tell which is the best for you? Judge on the following criteria.
Customer Service Importance
First and above all when it comes to getting the service you need is to check out the customer service options that your potential company provides you with. This can mean things such as 24/7 support, wherein you can reach a live person by phone or chat any time of the day or night. Chances are, if you are big enough to need a dedicated web host, then you will need extra support in the area of customer service. So make sure that you get it.
Informational Resource
If you are running a dedicated web host, then you are going to need the hardware to make things run smoothly, and if you have limited or no knowledge of how things work, then you are going to require help every step of the way. A dedicated hosting provider should be your hub for information, steering you toward the right products and information when you need them the most. Because a dedicated plan is in your hands, your company needs to be a source of support and data for you to achieve your goals no matter how ambitious they are.
Intuitive Use and Functionality
Dedicated hosting plans are the most expensive out there for a reason. They require intuitive use and functionality in order to be successful, which means your provider must prepare you to use your system with the greatest of ease and care. They must also give you the tools to stay ahead of all the predators and malicious spyware out there that can set you back in achieving your goals, or simply putting in a day #8217;s work.
As you look for a dedicated server hosting company, make sure they are you-centric. In other words, they must give you the essentials you need to survive in an increasingly challenging world.

Try the following instructions on how to write a persuasive essay. They are indispensable in writing a well-planned and thoroughly considered persuasive essay.
1.Start with an Impressive Lead-In
The introduction of your persuasive essay is the first words you utter to render the readers to be well-disposed to you. Moreover, it is by the introduction that the reader decides whether to go on reading you essay or leave it in peace. Thus, the introduction of your essay should be attention grabbing and impressive enough to induce the reader to read further on.
Writing a persuasive essay, you need to pay particular attention to the first sentence you are going to write down, namely a lead-in. It is the most important part of the whole persuasive essay, out of which you come out either a winner or a loser.
To write a strong and impressive lead-in, try the following strategies:
7.start with an unusual detail;
8.put a strong statement;
9.quote a famous person;
10.introduce a short and up-to-the-point anecdote; the essay with a statistic or fact;
12.start with an emphatic rhetorical question;
Before deciding on one of the strategies, try all of them. You will be surprised to find out how different strategies can enrich and smarten up the introduction to your persuasive essay.
After you have put the opening sentence, be sure to introduce a sentence that will show that you see both pros and cons of the subject matter under consideration. Then write a thesis or focus statement, which has to reveal your own point of view. A well-formulated thesis statement is the key to success, as it is the central part of your essay, around which all other parts are organized.
Remember that a good introduction should be brief, concise and end with a closing sentence that will be transitional to the next paragrath.
2.Support Your Thesis in the Body
The body of your persuasive essay is the main part of your writing where you present supporting evidence and elaborate on the reasons you stated previously. The body should be a proof that you have researched and examined your persuasive essay topic and that your arguments are reasonable and reliable.
In order to prove your thesis statement and dispel the opposing arguments, you need to: 1) state the facts of the case; 2) prove your thesis with arguments; and 3) disprove your opponent #8217;s arguments in three consecutive steps.
Statement of facts is a non-argumentative presentation of details, summaries and narration concerning the problem discussion. In this part of the body you should present supporting evidence without stating your own point of view and trying to persuade the readers in it.
First, you should remind the readers of some events, provide vivid illustrations that will show the significance of the topic. Statement of facts should be clear, brief, and vivid. If you obscure the facts, you are defeating the purpose. Thus, delete irrelevant information and information which contributes little to the reader #8217;s understanding.
After you #8217;ve introduced some facts, you can get down to proving your thesis with arguments. This should be the longest section and the central part of your persuasive essay. With the readers rendered attentive by the introduction and informed by the statement of fact, you must show why your position concerning the facts should be accepted and believed.
Now comes the time to deny the truth on which the opposing argument is built. Be patient in thinking over the refutation. It is the most difficult stage that needs time, concentration and absorption.
The proven way to hook readers #8217; attention is to leave your strongest argument for last so that to leave them with your best thought.
3.Write a Memorable Conclusion.
Your conclusion should be a #8220;mirror image #8221; of your introduction. It means that you should refresh the reader #8217;s memory and remind him of the thesis statement you put in the introduction. It is not a mere waste of time or words, but the best way to convince the reader to take your side.
As well as in writing the introduction, you can try several ways to write a memorable conclusion for your persuasive essay.
Except for restating the introduction, you can summarize the main points to enable the readers to recall the main points of your position.
A nice way to conclude the persuasive essay is to write a personal comment or call for action. It could be: 1) your prediction; 2) a question that will let the readers make their own predictions; 3) your recommendations to solve a problem; 4) a quotation. It #8217;s up to you to decide!
The last line of your persuasive essay, that is the #8220;tag line, #8221; needs special attention, for it is the second most important line after the lead-in. Thus, it is important that it:
4.renders the readers to be well disposed to you;
5.magnifies your points;
6.puts the readers in the proper mood.
Once you have put the full stop after the #8220;tag line #8221;, your work is over. But make sure that the words you have put in your persuasive essay will be #8220;working #8221; long after your readers stop reading it.

Important Terms Of Web Hosting January 30, 2014
Web hosting is the space where files #038; contents of a site are kept to make it accessible on the internet. There are some important terms related to web hosting, which you should know clearly before buying any web hosting. These are briefly described below.
1. Server PC: The PC where websites are kept is called server PC. Server PC #8217;s are usually high-performance PC connected to high speed #038; reliable internet #038; are kept running all the time to keep hosted sites up.
2. Disk Space: Disk space is the space on the server PC which is allocated for an account to store web files. Any file you want to publish on the internet should be kept on this space. The required space for a website is same as the total volume of the files, databases, emails etc.
Suppose, You want to host a website which has 200 files, which are 270MB, in volume. The site has a database of 10MB #038; You want to store up to 30MB #8217;s of email then the required space is 270+10+30 = 310MB.
A lot of hosting providers claim to provide unlimited disk space, but practically no one provides unlimited space. If you use too much space on the server, they #8217;ll close your account for lame excuses.
3. Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the measurement of data transfer between the web server and visitors #8217; PC or other data source. When a visitor visits a web page, the browser actually downloads the whole webpage including rich media files like image, video, audio, flash animation etc #038; show it on PC screen. The measurement of this data transfer is called bandwidth.
Bandwidth includes all type of data transfer like website visit, upload/download files, server to server data transfer etc.
The calculation of required bandwidth is quite simple. Suppose, the average size of your web pages are 520KB #038; you are expecting 100 daily visits on your site.
You have a product manual on the site for downloading which is of 3MB #038; the estimated download is 10 times per month.
You have a comment section on your company blog where visitors can upload avatar of max. 512KB while blog hosting commenting on blog posts. You are expecting 50 people will upload avatars per month.
So, the monthly required bandwidth is #8211;
For web pages: (520*100*30)KB = 1,560,000KB = 1523.4MB
For product manual: (3*10)MB = 30MB
For users #8217; avatar: (512*50)KB = 25,600KB = 25MB
Total: (1524+30+25)MB = 1579MB = 1.54GB
If you perform any server to server file transfer, then that #8217;ll also be counted on bandwidth.
Like disk space, no one provides unlimited bandwidth though a lot of providers claim it. If your site consumes a lot of bandwidths, then they #8217;ll close your account.
4. Uptime: The time when the server remains accessible on the internet is called server uptime. To keep a site accessible, it is required to keep the server run #038; connected to the internet.
Keeping server PC up all time is quite impossible as it requires regular hardware #038; network maintenance as well as server updates. Also, accidental technical problem may occur anytime. This is why most providers guarantee 99.99% uptime. So the maximum downtime is 0.01%, which means the maximum downtime per month is:
(30*24*60*0.01)/100 = 43.2 Minutes
This is what providers claim, but the reality is different. Good providers usually provide 99.90-99.99% uptime but for bad providers, sometimes it #8217;s below 90%.
5. Addon domain: Addon domain is the domain which is added to a hosting account to publish different website under that domain.
While purchasing a hosting, everyone needs to register a new domain or use existing domain to sign up. This domain becomes primary domain or main domain for the hosting. All other domains added to the account to publish different websites are addon domains.
Consider, you used the domain for purchasing a hosting. Then is the main or primary domain for that hosting account. Then you wanted to host a blog on that hosting account whose domain will be In that case, you #8217;ll have to add the domain as addon domain on that account. After that, you #8217;ll be able to host the blog under without affecting the main site hosted under main domain.

VPS Hosting and WordPress January 30, 2014
What is WordPress?
Whenever you hear the phrases VPS and WordPress within nowadays this represents a perfect combination for any blogger that has upgraded his site to a new level due to multiple reasons but one of these is the key one and that #8217;s reliability. Well this key reason depends upon one specific point, because WordPress is really a powerful tool that needs resources constantly to show it #8217;s full potential. When you #8217;re starting your personal blog, the first logical step is always to start it on the shared hosting account because of the lowest price available on the market, but also since you don #8217;t know just how much hits and visitors your site will get. So in the event of low visitations the actual shared hosting has become the best solution for you personally.
WordPress and Virtual Serves
But in instances when those hits become a few thousand a day time, then it #8217;s time for you to find something much more reliable, faster and much more manageable. This is in which the VPS hosting and WordPress get together as a perfect match because of the great variety as well as diversity in features and features how the VPS provides and all of these features are almost designed to support WordPress. This really is also a pros along with a con of the WordPress since it doesn #8217;t allow sloppiness. What I mean by that #8217;s with WordPress and it is content you need resources available constantly to it, not to mention up and running constantly. If this situation isn #8217;t met after that certain plugins from the WordPress will cease functioning, and the consequence that has become the worst of all may be the diminishment of the actual Google rank. This is really a good point, as you will need to hunt down for that most reliable hosting servers that you could find, with the highest quality services that you #8217;ll need but of course for any reasonable price, but also the cost depends on which kind of package and extra service you need. Because the WordPress is this type of sensitive tool with the quantity of traffic which it may handle before this starts showing outcomes of overload, it might be wise to update (add) more room, bandwidth, in general more resources to allow them to keep up the pace from the visitors, because this is among the big advantages from the VPS, the easiness of expanding-diminishing from the hardware that a person currently use. Another very neat feature from the WordPress is the truth that it can adjust to the different degree of skills that it #8217;s users have. It has the actual novice adaptation towards the user not to mention for the specialists. Like any other software about the hosting environment, for the simplest way of installation it is suggested for you to possess a control panel to help you simplify the installation inside a great amount.
